Rachel Coleman, LMFT

ABOUT ME

I believe that therapy is not a place for advice or finding a "cure," but rather helping someone learn the skill of exploring their identity and purpose in life. We do this in process-oriented therapy through asking ourselves certain questions, analyzing our reactions and behaviors, and exploring alternative ways to living. I have a deep passion to assist adults and adolescents in developing a stronger sense of self in order to live a full, happy life.

I am originally from New Jersey but moved to sunny Southern California to earn my Masters in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University. I am a California Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist #48782. I have completed Certification courses in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Post Partum Depression (PPD), and Intuitive Eating (by Evelyn Tribole). I am active in the community through giving presentations on the topics of Eating Disorders and body image to Pepperdine University, Cal State Fullerton, and Vanguard University as well as various local high schools and churches. I am a previous Board member of the Orange County chapter of the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals (IAEDP) and continue to attend local meetings for continued education.
